Additional AM-70 EX bridge vehicles strengthen Fire and Rescue Service capabilities
Our company has delivered another pair of vehicles to the Hlučín unit of the Czech Fire and Rescue Service (HZS ČR). The delivery follows on from previous cooperation and confirms the company's long-term commitment to supporting the integrated rescue system (IZS) with modern and reliable technology.
These are AM-70 EX vehicles, whose bridge set complies with the MLC 70 standard in terms of bridge and support load capacity. The bridge is of the scissor type with a full deck, which allows safe passage of tracked, single-track, and double-track wheeled vehicles.
Each vehicle is built on a Tatra 8×8 chassis and equipped with a lightweight non-ballistic cabin. The vehicles are further modified according to the requirements of the Fire and Rescue Service and the customer – the cab is equipped with warning devices (beacons), radios, a vehicle terminal, charging stations, converters, and distribution boxes (rettboxes) for powering vehicles of the integrated rescue system, including emergency response vehicles.
Based on experience from real-world deployment, including during floods in the Jeseník region, a number of technical improvements have been incorporated into the newly delivered vehicles. The bridge sets are equipped with new anchoring points on both sides of the bridge and anti-slip coating, which significantly increases the safety of operators, pedestrians, and passing vehicles. The modernization also includes a semi-digital instrument panel, contributing to better clarity and operator comfort.
The HZS unit in Hlučín currently has four AM-70 EX vehicles at its disposal, which are capable of cooperating to build a bridge structure with a total length of up to 54 meters.
